We often think of a great business idea and immediately we start with Execution of  tasks. Seth Godin explains the Hierarchy of Success quite effectively and makes you think about Attitude first before everything else:

Some questions to ask yourself are:

• How do you deal with failure?
• When will you quit?
• How do you treat competitors?
• What personality are you looking for in the people you hire?
• What’s it like to work for you? Why? Is that a deliberate choice?
• What sort of decisions do you make when no one is looking?

So it’s Attitude firstly -I think everyone has felt that tons of energy can go wasted on spending tons of time and frustration in the Execution phase without having clearly set Strategy of Tactics first. I never thought of Attitude coming first though.

Don’t forget the 6 Steps to follow -  Attitude, Approach, then what your Goals are, your Strategy and Tactics. Finally the Execution of it. Some of us reverse the Hierarchy without Success and some with it
